It all started in 1953 when the 'Associazione Amici della Musica' decided to
organiz
e an international competittion in honour of Guido d'arezzo with the aim
of making choir music better known in Italy and abroad.
Since 1974 the Composition Competition 'Guido d'arezzo' has been held in occasion of the poliphonic competition.
In 1983 the
'Guido d'Arezzo Foundation' was established to give th
e
'Associazione Amici della Musica' somne practical support in the organization of
the Poliphonic competition and to widen theirhorizons.
In fact this foundation is carrying out quite many activities ranging from book publishing, music recording,
