Porta Pozzuolo
or Porta San Biagio, as it is wrongly called

Porta Pozzuolo is an old opening in the northern stretch of the XIIIth century walls, which was closed in the XVIth century and reopened to pedestrians after the Second World War with the wrong name of Porta San Biagio. The latter was a gate which is still visible from the outside of the walls in the area of the 'Prato' Gardens.

The name 'Pozzuolo' refers to an old well or spring that was nearby.

Inside the gate there are some stairs which take you to the west side of the church of San Domenico and the square of the same name.
