Palazzo Redi

It is situated at 134-124, Corso Italia.

After a quick look at the facade of this building we can easily notice elements of different and older styles even if it was only built at the beginning of the XIXth century by one of its members, Francesco Saverio Redi.  According to tradition the famous mathematician Francesco Redi and St. Teresa Margherita Redi were born there respectively in 1696 and 1747. After the death of  Francesco Saverio Redi this noble family died out and their whole possessions were given in charity, the houses in the nearly Via de Redi, for example, belonged to them too.

Quite high up on the corner of the building between Corso Italia and Via de Redi, there is a majesty with a picture of the Madonna, which is much older than the facade. It was probably painted by Lorentino d'Andrea, an artist of Piero della Francesca's school.
