Corso Italia has been the only shopping area for years until some department stores opened in the outskirts in the 80's. If you wanted to go shopping you simply went there, it was just like a modern shoppin centre. All the main shops were there: chemist's, elegant clothes and furs shops, grocer's, ironmonger's, record shops, confectioner's, stationer's, household articles shops (cotoni, bottoni..) and in the upper stretch of the street antiques shops. But now most of the oldest shops have closed down or changed management. There are only very few left.
Let's see first which were the shops in the 60's and 70's , that is the period of the economic bom in Italy when town changed their structure and people had bigger sums of moneys to spend for themselves.
And now what's happened to them?
